Boats through Chicago's Waterways
Many companies offer boat services on the river than winds through downtown Chicago and on beautiful Lake Michigan. They are seasonal in nature with suspended or partial winter services.
Handsome Horse and Buggy Rides aka Carriage Rides

$35 per half hour, you and three companions can sit in the open as you slowly move through Chicago's downtown landscape with the rhythmic sound of the horses hoove's hitting the pavement below. It is a beautiful way to experience downtown in summer and in winter! And, it is located near many worthwhile places to explore: the lounge on the 96th floor for sunset and sensational city views, Lawry's The Prime Rib for a delicious meal in a charming environment, and all of the shopping of Michigan Avenue.
Taxis
Most guests use the Elevated Train to get to the city and our free shuttle service to get around the Midway neighborhood. If you have a special route to cover then you might want to call a cab. Many companies exist, and without any particular recommendation we mention
Yellow Cabs as a large one. You can call them at 312.829.4222 or theie affiliate, Checker Cab, at 312.243.2537, for a hotel pickup.
It'll cost about $17 from the Carlton Inn Midway to McCormick Place. If you are bringing supplies to exhibit, request a minivan cab for no additional charge.
Downtown Chicago is full of taxis, making it even more easy to not drive your car into the Loop. The first 1/9 of a mile costs just $2.25, and each additional 1/9 of a mile will set you back just 20 cents. For an additional passenger who is not a child or senior (both free companions) it costs $1. Then just 50 cents per passeneger. There is no charge for baggage or using a credit card. Tipping is optional, and is typically a minimum of 10% or rounding up to an even number.
